The Department of Pediatrics is known for cultivating excellence and being a leader in education and research on the health and well-being of children, from the embryonic stage to the end of adolescence. The mission of the Centre de pédagogie appliquée aux sciences de la santé (CPASS) is to stimulate and support the development of health science teaching skills. Its mandate is to ensure faculty development and assist training programs in their educational innovations. It promotes the development of research in health sciences education, thanks to an interdisciplinary team working in a variety of fields of expertise. It also offers graduate training programs in health sciences education.

Your day-to-day impact

Through your teaching and your research activities, you will play a pivotal role in fostering excellence within your faculty. Furthermore, you will enhance the prominence of your area of expertise and actively participate in the daily activities of our renowned university. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the implementation, funding and execution of an innovative, dynamic and transformative research program in health sciences education, with a focus on measurement and evaluation, including program evaluation;

  • Teach at all levels of education;

  • Supervise graduate and post-doctoral students;

  • Contribute to the academic life and operations of the Department of Pediatrics, the Faculty of Medicine and the CPASS;

  • Participate in the activities of the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine and the CPASS, in particular by disseminating research results in scientific journals and through presentations at scientific congresses or as part of knowledge exchange and transfer activities in clinical practice settings.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Ensure the implementation, funding and execution of an innovative, dynamic and transformative research program in health sciences education, with a focus on measurement and evaluation, including program evaluation;

  • Teach at all levels of education;

  • Supervise graduate and post-doctoral students;

  • Contribute to the academic life and operations of the Department of Pediatrics, the Faculty of Medicine and the CPASS;

  • Participate in the activities of the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine and the CPASS, in particular by disseminating research results in scientific journals and through presentations at scientific congresses or as part of knowledge exchange and transfer activities in clinical practice settings.

  • Adequate proficiency in the French language or a strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required upon assuming the position in accordance to Université de Montréal’s Language Policy. A French language learning assistance program is offered to all professors who wish to acquire French language skills or enhance their communication abilities.
